DEMO: The Elusive Project X is a suitably mysterious, and probably temporary, name for a four-song collaboration of Brent Calkin, ex-Velour 3 drummer Flavio Monopoli and singer Shaye Martirano. Conceptually, the inspiration might be Garbage or Portishead as the sound is so much a studio construction but the quirks of the original material also suggest a benign but present '80s technopop influence while the cover of I'll Be Your Mirror puts a new wavish face on the Velvet Underground Classic.
